A Brighter Future Is Ahead

March 11, 2021 MIKE EGAN
A Brighter Future Is Ahead.jpg

Spring is slowly starting to come around! The warmer weather has got me trying to expand my color palette and use spring colors. Someone asked me how I felt about the softer colors yet still talking about death in my art. It reminded me about being a funeral director and how I’d see all of these bright flowers that would surround the casket. I always found it odd yet beautiful at the same time. That’s how I’ve been approaching my paintings lately, yes they are about death but packaged in a brightly colored package like the flowers.
